The expansion baskets are designed to build remote data collection systems.They are load-bearing chassis in which I/O modules are mounted. In comparison with stand-alone data acquisition modules, baskets are more profitable to use with a high density of I/O points, because they allow you to get more signals per device. Communication between the basket and the upper level is carried out by means of one or another communication channel (RS-232/485, Ethernet, USB), while using a specific data exchange protocol. ICP DAS offers a wide range of expansion baskets, differing in interface, protocol and number of slots for I/O modules. Some baskets have intelligent functions and support the "hot" module replacement mode.
